The F.A.D.E.D Foundation provides
industry-recognized barber training programs designed to help individuals affected by incarceration gain skills, stability, and long-term employment.

Barber I
750 hours of training
Includes hair/scalp treatments
Hair coloring and temporary rinses
Basic facial + foundational haircutting techniques
Meets state requirements under 18VAC41-20-220
Tuition Cost*:
$10,000 (Includes application fee, student barber kit, textbook & CD)
*Additional $250 fee for online instruction

Master Barber Program
Requires an additional 250 hours of school training in accordance with 18VAC41-20-220.
Covers “advanced” curriculum items, including:

Styling hair with a hand dryer

Thermal waving
-
Permanent waving with chemicals
-
Relaxing the hair
-
Lightening or toning the hair
-
Hairpieces and wigs
-
Waxing Available to individuals who have already completed the 1,100-hour Barber I program.

Completion of this training makes students eligible for the Master Barber license.

*Additional $250 fee for online instruction

Dual Barber Program
The 1,000-hour dual program covers all topics in both barbering and master barbering.

Students who complete the program are eligible to become

Master Barbers after passing the state examinations.

Must be completed through an approved barber school.
Provides a direct pathway to apply for the Master Barber license upon completion of all 1,500 training hours.
